" Frequency ... "

“ ... Everything you know
Somebody else has taught and told you
Deep within yourself if you're
Yourself are you that person

Like a coded frequency
The people will unfold you
Leave it up to everybody's hands
To shape and mold you

I took some time
To stand on my own two feet

Frequency ... “

~ Tantric ~ Frequency ~
***

Spending time in the mountains, when you get out of the city, there is an energetic shift.  The shades of color, sounds, birds, insects, animals, running water ... has a soothing effect on the mind.  And not only because you get away from the intensity of the city, but because these sounds consist of vibrational frequency, which is measured in Hertz (Hz).

... all of these natural harmonics vibrate at 432 Hz,
it’s the natural frequency of the universe ...

The benefits of being tuned into the correct vibration include healing our DNA, ailments and even getting healthier.

... being in tune with this universal frequency
is an integral part of us being part of nature ...

432 Hz is the harmonic intonation of nature.  This vibration can make your body and the organic world which surrounds it, resonate in a natural way.  A sense of peace and wellbeing is available in those moments.  So as we open our ears we help our bodies release emotional blockages and expand consciousness.  432Hz allows you to tune into the knowledge of the universe around us in a more intuitive way.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe,
think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ~ Tesla

With our bodies made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies, frequencies affect frequencies.  And with these, our bodies are estimate to be about 70% water, experiments have shown how we alter our own vibrational state based on every expression through sound, emotion, or thought ... which influences everything around it, much like a drop of water creating a ripple effect.

It is believed that the 432 Hz vibrations with the Universe, unifies the properties of light, time, space, matter, gravity, magnetism, biology, DNA code and consciousness.  It is believed that our atoms and DNA start to resonate in harmony with the spiraling pattern of nature, resulting in our sense of connection to nature magnified.

" Breathe ... "

“ ... A blue-black shade of love.
Sent from above.
My hands are tied, two worlds alone,
And this I know.
Your breath's like wine,
And just like clouds, my skin crawls.
It's so divine, the sky it glows with fields of light.

Did you know that I love you?
Come and lay with me.
I love you.
And on this day, I love you.
You make me feel alive,
And I'll love you
Until the end of time ... “

The beauty of unifying breath and movement is truly majestic ... with the breathing techniques of Ujjayi pranayama, we can open a gateway, melt snow or ride the waves like a surfer.  What a wonderful visualization regarding prana (energy).

Our familiarity with meditation and yoga, provides us a better insight on how the body, mind and breath connect.  Ujjayi Pranayama, or ocean breathing, links the physical and energetic universe.  This type of breathing technique, when applied correctly, can open you to unlimited energy.  Superficial breathe will carry you, but the depth you are looking for comes from the deep audible breathes.  The rhythm set by your inner waves.

Breathing through the nose humidifies the inhaled air, tempers it and removes dust particles ... cleansing as you inhale.  Like a surfer who rides the waves of a real ocean, your inner surf carries from asana to asana.  And the quality of your breath is your guide.

“ ... The murmuring Ujjayi sound causes the bronchi to vibrate subtly, activating the ciliated epithelium. Dust particles will also be removed from the lungs in this way. During normal breathing, the pressure on the bronchi during exhalation is quite modest. Ujjayi pranayama maintains steady pressure inside the bronchi, even during exhalation. This counteracts the collapsing of the smaller bronchi, allowing the exhalation to be expanded and the amount of residual air in the lungs to be reduced. This breathing technique is especially useful for people who suffer from chronic obstructive lung conditions or asthma ... “

practicing Ujjayi Pranayama (beginners)

  • Sit down with your spine upright and close your eyes.
  • Inhale slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
  • When exhaling, produce the sound ‘HHHHHAAAA’.
  • From now on, keep your mouth closed while exhaling.
  • Generate the same sound as before but this time with your mouth closed.
  • The position of your throat is unchanged and natural.
  • Make sure the sound originates from your throat and not from your nose.
  • Now maintain the same throat position while inhaling, producing the same murmuring sound.
  • Begin to balance your inhalation with your exhalation.
  • Balance the sound, quality and length of your breath.
  • You’ll probably notice that your exhalation is longer and stronger.
  • Therefore, expand and emphasize your inhalation.
  • This is the first way to expand your breath.
  • Feel your heartbeat.
  • Inhale over approximately three to five heartbeats and exhale over the same amount.
  • This is the second way to expand your breath during inhalation as well as exhalation.
  • Lift your arms while inhaling, and lower them while exhaling.
  • The way your breath adjusts to the movement (Vinyasa) is the third way to expand your breath.
  • Now let your hands rest in your lap while you let your breath flow.
  • Experience the effect of your breathing.
  • By expanding your breath, you absorb Prana (energy).
  • You might even feel a delicate tingling in the back of your throat.
  • As your practice becomes more refined and advanced, the quality of your breath will become more subtle and you will become more in touch with the Prana.
  • Concentrate on the turning point between inhalation and exhalation.
  • Make sure you keep your breath flowing and your throat open.
  • This is the basis for an ongoing flow of energy.
  • Now slowly open your breath and return to normal breathing.

“ life is a moving, breathing thing ...we have to be willing to constantly evolve ... perfection is constant transformation ... “

" Muladhara ... "

The Root or Base Chakra
***

Zodiacal signs Capricorn, Virgo and Taurus

Furnishes the energy used to create and maintain our foundation.
This is the energy that keeps us on firm ground and provides us with the basic skills to uphold a place in the world

The 4th Ray of "Harmony through Conflict" governs the base chakra or root.
This chakra symbol represents the most earth centered chakra. It stands for our inherited beliefs through our formative years. Self-preservation, personal survival and our identification with the physical world centers in this bottom most of the main seven chakras.

A healthy root chakra connects you with vitality to your family of origin, your immediate society and to the global community. If your 0-7 years were challenging and without love, then this damaged root chakra will function much differently. Issues of survival such as emotional dysfunction, stress, anxiousness, and restlessness will plague you.

Possible fears of letting go, scarcity, poor boundaries, and more. It’s during the 0-7 years that we learn about where we fall in our relationships with siblings, parents, our community, and how we relate to them.

Healthy issues
Joint pain, lower backache, elimination problems, obesity, constipation, anorexia, and poor immune system function.

Questions
What beliefs did you inherit or learn from your family?
Is there unfinished business between you and your parents?
What limiting beliefs did you learn about personal survival and money?
Do you have personal boundaries that you maintain?
Is it difficult for you to bond with others?
Are you often sick or suffering from illness?

Transcendence of unloving imprints in this chakra
"Others show you yourself and what you need to work on within, by their reflection of your own rejected or denied emotions."

" Circular … "

We are alive, to see the end of us
Struggling to reach the finish line
To designate our time to questionable lives
So called meaningless, still there's no answer
For this vulnerable reality comes
Can't we break the cycle in which we reside?

Objective achieved, the perfect machine
We're drawing circles every day
It takes only one step to be on your way
Reflection, our time's up
And over and over again
Again, again

Being human equates being emotional.  Experiences generate feelings & emotions that become excessive, or are repressed and turned inward.  This is when they can become pathological and cause dis-ease.  Once we understand this connection, we can begin to balance our bodies back to wellness … one modality,Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), offers some insight.

We consider emotions of joy, sadness and anger to be normal, normal in every day experiences.  And, sometimes even an organ within our body can be out of balance and produce emotional imbalances.  TCM believes that balancing the organ associated with the emotion will balance the emotion.  The difference is important to the practitioner, as well as you, in preventing a recurrence of the problem.  The practitioner will ask many questions to evaluate all aspects, not just the physical, with the intention that once the imbalance is corrected, the environment that created that imbalance no longer exists.  Yet we do have free will, and if we choose to continue in the environment, the imbalance will likely return as we are creatures of habit.

... emotions that do not have avenues for expression and release can create dis-ease and dis-harmony in the body manifesting as physical symptoms ...

TCM relies on a circular rather than a liner approach ... cause and effect ... balance and flow.  Therefore stuck emotions can lead to a blockage of the flow or a stagnation resulting in dis-ease.  How the dis-ease manifests is completely individualized depending on many factors, and your practitioner will assist you in determining the how.  It is believed that releasing emotions can release dis-eases.

The following related organs show symptoms when imbalance occurs ...

HEART
SPLEEN
LUNGS
KIDNEY
LIVER
emotion
joy
worry
sadness
fear
anger
emotion out of balance
Lack of enthusiasm and vitality, mental restlessness, depression, insomnia, despair, confusion, anxiety, fidgeting, easily startled

Fearful, no willpower, insecure, aloof, isolated
Explosive anger, resentment, frustration, irritability, bitterness, moodiness
function
Regulates the heart and blood vessels, responsible for even and regular pulse, influences vitality and spirit. Connected to the tongue, complexion and arteries
Food digestion and nutrient absorption, the first step in the formation of Blood and Qi, holds blood in the vessels, connected to the muscles, mouth and lips, involved in thinking, studying and memory
Respiration, controls sweat and body hair, creates energy (Qi) from air and redistributes it throughout the body, works with Kidney to regulate the water metabolism, important part of the immune system and helps protect the body from viruses and bacteria, provides moisture to skin
Responsible for reproduction, growth and development & maturation, connected with lungs in water metabolism and respiration, responsible for bones, teeth, hearing and head hair
Stores the blood, responsible for the smooth flow of Blood and Qi throughout the body, regulates the secretion of bile, connected with the tendons, nails and eyes
symptoms indicating imbalance
insomnia, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, excessive dreaming, poor memory and concentration, dizziness, spontaneous sweating

Tired, loss of appetite, mucous discharge, poor digestion, abdominal distension, loose stools or diarrhea, weak muscles, pale lips, bruising easily, excessive menstrual blood flow, other bleeding disorders
Shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, catching colds easily, fever with chills, sore throat, runny nose, headache, asthma, chest oppression, pale complexion, dry skin
Frequent urination, urinary incontinence, vertigo, night sweats, dry mouth, poor short term memory, low back pain, sore or weak knees, ringing in the ears, hearing loss, hair that turns grey prematurely, hair loss and osteoporosis, lowered libido

chest distension, red face, bitter taste in the mouth dizziness, ringing in the ears, jaundice, menstrual problems (cramps, irregular or heavy periods), headaches, tendinitis, nausea, vomiting, sighing, breast tenderness, swelling and/or itching of the genitals, blurred vision, floaters, dry skin and hair

When we live in a fast paced world full of stresses on both our minds and our bodies.  Hence it is important to remember again that the cause of an imbalance may be occurring from events in your life and a practitioner cannot can’t remove the stress, only you can.
Staying healthy isn’t easy but it is possible if you make it a priority.  Imbalance is everywhere.  Hence finding whatever brings you happiness and makes you feel good are the small things that are the keys to wellness.

" Mantra ... "

A thousand dreams within
Within me softly burn
They burn the savage soul
Tat twisted what it learned
I feel this life slipping by
I can fell this life slipping by

Mercy is the cry of the soul that stirred ...

Time and time life's left me only
Feeling sick and feeling scared
Now love is strong my love is strong
I'll go on and on and on and on and on

Mercy is the cry of the soul that stirred
Mercy is the cry and it's never heard
Love is all we have
Love is all we need

Mantras ... what are they and do you have one or more?  More importantly, what can mantras do you for you?

Recently, I read that “ideas remain un actualized until they are created through the power of speech”.  And within large bodies of text (originating from India), also known as Vedas, the is claim that “speech is the essence of humanity”.  Therefore, the expression of ideas and actions through speech determines what we think and become.  At least this is practiced within most Buddhist and Hinduism techniques ... leading to mantras being viewed as a necessity for spiritual advancement.

But where does the word mantra come from?  Well it is derived from two Sanskrit words.  “Manas” or mind, which provides the “man” syllable and “trai” meaning “protect”.  Therefore, the word mantra literally means “to free from the mind and mantra, at its core, is a tool used by the mind.

So why mantra?

Regardless of your choice of faith, mantras can be very powerful.  The simple act of speaking a word produces an actual physical vibration and energy.  Coupled with the mental intention, the vibration carries the result of saying it.  To the universe.  Literally putting it out there with commitment.

From personal experience, mantras can take you on a journey towards freedom.  At a subconscious level, they help to expand and deepen your mind ... and address thoughts stored in organs and glands, transforming them into places of peace and harmony.

And yes,
this can be achieved through dedicated uses of mantras ...

How?  Simply put, a mantra is an empowered word ... a word that has great psychological or spiritual efficacy.  It allows you to focus your attention on your inner self, your spirit, your soul.  And even if you are still not sure if you want to "mantra" ... you may be surprised to find out you probably are.  Just know the most important aspect of mantras is keeping faith.  Faith, aided by strong will, is when we achieve our goals ... leading us to a calm mind, true happiness and ultimate satisfaction.

" Angry ... "

So scream you, out from behind the bitter ache
Heavy on the memory, you need most
Still want love, ugly, smooth and delicate
Not without affection, not alone
And instead of wishing that it would get better
Man you're seeing that you just get angrier
And it's good that I'm not angry
I just need to get over
I'm not angry, anymore
~ Matchbox 20 ~ Angry ~
***
Is it okay to feel angry?  Yes, because anger is a useful emotion.  It gives us feedback that something has happened ... our boundaries have been crossed or we have been violated in some way.  When we feel anger, we are more likely to do something about it .... the trick is to step back from the anger and make a rational decision about what you are going to do.  Yeah, easier said than done right?
You see, when we are in a state of emotional arousal, we don’t necessarily make the best decisions.  Our reasoning conscious mind can let our subconscious mind take control ... and our fight/flight response kicks in.  Why?  Because our brains treat any threats in the same manner ... we feel rage or fear, regardless of the situation.
Anger is a craving or grasping of beliefs around ourselves.  It is a normal emotion that all human beings feel, like sorrow and happiness.  Think about it ... from a young age, we feel anger ... like a newborn turning red and crying with a little twisted face or a two year old throws a temper tantrum.  It is obvious that they are experiencing intense anger and that they have not yet learned to manage their anger.  Sadly, many adults have never learned to manage their anger either.  They may not behave in quite the same manner as the two year old, but still harmful to self.
So is it better to express or suppress these emotions?  Studies have shown that people who are shy and non-assertive, have a greater prevalence of tumours than other personality types ... because shyness is associated with suppressing of emotions, particularly negative ones, like anger, resentment and bitterness.  Holding onto these emotions can literally eat away at you.  Now that doesn’t mean that every shy person will develop cancer, but it is definitely something to consider.
My opinion?  Express yourself ... constructively.  Because life is energy in play and the more free flowing the energy is the more vibrant you feel.  Pockets of energy which are suppressed, or “held”, within you become sources of resistance to the free flow of your life expression.  They tend to lose their power over you and their ability to cause harm.

Realization: Forgiving is not about ‘giving’ something to the person who has wronged you.  It is about ‘giving’ yourself the permission to release the burden of carrying those emotions.

Learning to channel your feelings into words or actions that are not hurtful, positive and healthy will unburden you .... because managing anger destructively is actually allowing your anger to manage you.

" Life Is A Pattern ... "

Life is a story, go ahead and find your sight
Life is your glory, go ahead and live the night
But to live means to be here, in the present now
Do try to bow for the gift of your day
Then you cede to the morning sun ...
What is it that makes us lose sight, true sight
Of what is real and essential?
I'll take organised patterns of chaos
Over the chaotic organisations of man, any day.
~ System Of A Down ~ Life Is A Pattern ~
***
Do you believe that the more you imagine, the more real it becomes?  I do.  I believe we can program anything we create into our reality.  I believe we can program anything that we want to influence because our thoughts carry energy through us once constructed.
You see when we program our body to function in certain ways, our subconscious mind carries out the command.  Science has shown that the human brain works on these thought patterns, which are nothing but programming that has been indented into its neural network.  But the problem with subconscious patterns is that we take it for granted and believe that its the truth of who we are.
Is the subconscious mind simply a term used to point to thought patterns that are running on “auto” pilot due to past attention/belief?  Can they be observed when we deepen our awareness of the mind, and are they the core thoughts underlying many of our perceptions and interpretations?
So what if the truth is that these are thought patterns that have been thought so many times that that they’ve become ingrained as an “auto” mode of functioning.  And if we become aware and show lack of interest and attention to them, can we become free of patterns that are harmful to us?
Yes.  Once you become aware of subconscious negative patterns in your brain, you can start dis-believing them ... if you allow yourselves to align with thoughts of our desired reality.  Once you align these, the patterning in your brain will start running on a new “auto”mode.
I choose to believe that there is no truth to negativity because life doesn’t support it and only serves to impeded and resist the movement of your life towards well-being.   I encourage you to explore different modalities that resonate with you ... it has helped me immensely to help clear these patterns and move towards a state of greater balance, aliveness, and harmony in my life.

" Beautiful Day ... "

" You're on the road but you've got no destination
You're in the mud, in the maze of her imagination
You love this town even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over and it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away"

In with a mighty roar, 2012, Year of the Dragon has the potential to breathe life-shaping fire, to be magical, even mythical ... and a mighty roar it was.  Once again we were fortunate for the opportunity to gig and "bling" in the New Year.  It was a fun night  ~ full of energy, joy and celebration.  Also a night for Russell and I to reflect upon 2011, and quite a reflection it was.  With reflections come realizations as well for which I am grateful for.
Since we ventured home in the wee hours of new years day, we made sure that it remained a quiet one for us ... a chance to rest and rejuvenate, although still working the programme, yet made sure we napped in between juices, etc ... no days off from Gerson!
So where do we go from here ... well some get on with their resolutions straight away, hitting the gym, detoxing, getting on the health kick band wagon ... others gracefully transition into a new life style.  Whatever you choice, the new year is like the setting of the sun on another day.  Because another year has passed and we will ask ourselves ~ did I do enough last year, could I have helped more, could I have loved more, did I lose more than I gained ... but really most questions point to if we lived out our purpose in the past year by growing, learning and teaching.
So again we have another chance being offered to us with no strings attached, endless possibilities, new thoughts, new ideas and new adventures.  And although I still have trouble wrapping my head around some happenings of 2011, I realize that some things are still works in progress ... my superstitions make me want to keep them near to my heart for fear of jinxing them.  Yet I will take all those questions I have pondered over the last few days as a new starting point, a new marker.  One which has granted me the gift of life once more, freely.

Let your past make you better not bitter ♥

" The Perfect Gift ... "

Close your eyes and I will sing a song for you
I will always be there
I will always love you
And while you’re dreaming I will row your boat ashore
I will always be there for you
... You gave me the perfect gift."

~ Canadian Tenors ~ The Perfect Gift ~
***

The Perfect Gift ... does it really exist?  Perhaps in the eyes of the gift giver ... but what about the gift receiver?  From my own experience, I have struggled with learning how to fully take in a gift.  Gratitude ... yes, but even when I am writing thank-you notes and lists, have I fully received, taking in and assimilated the gift I've been given.  If this sounds familiar to you as well, I recently read an article to help us in this process.  To start, we need to recognize that we are being given a gift.  Then we need to create enough openness to take it in.  Next we need to appreciate it, value it or the intentions of the giver.  Finally, we need to feel that we deserve it .. the gift is neither too much, too little or too out of line with who we are.  For me, this hits home ... the feeling that I deserve it, I am worthy ... I have definitely struggled with this.

Seems really simple right ... so why then do some of us still struggle with this?  One reason may be we feel resistant to receiving a gift that isn't "meant" for us.  Not everyone's energy is aligned with ours ... some gifts comes with so many strings and expectations that make us very uncomfortable.  If you identify with this, then you have probably learned how to receive by looking at the meaning behind any feelings of resistance.  Sometimes they are messages telling you that it isn't wise to accept the offering.  It is important to listen to you inner "no" or "yes" but remember to treat each gift and giver differently ... are you projecting your past experience on the present?

Going beyond receiving a gift ... are you a wide receiver in life?  Do you easily accept favours and compliments?  Does this create feelings of guilt or insecurity?  Do you have fear that you don't have the means to reciprocate?  Another reason we don't receive help is that, on a subconscious level, it may make us feel inferior.  In some cultures, the giver is in the power position ... while the receiver is representing neediness.  Even when we are truly in need, our ego will often resist the discomfort of fully receiving.

So how do you become better "wide receivers"?

"Create Presence.  When someone offers you a kind word, a present, a favour, be aware of your state of mind .. if you rushed, distracted or preoccupied, you have much less capability to fully receive.

Avoid Judgement.  Resist the urge to think about what kind of offering you would have preferred.  Instead consider that the giver might only have a loving intention.

See the Gift as Message.  Appreciate the insight presented to you, the energy and blessing taking place.

Consciously Open Yourself.  Remind yourself to cultivate openness to whatever form love takes ... what is offered to you & the grace supporting it"

"When we improve our ability to fully receive, we will begin to notice how many gifts are being offered to us at every moment ... and whatever we give back becomes a part of the same dance ... the dance of giving and receiving, in which we are all one another's partners" (YogaJournal, December 2011)
