" Earth ... "

What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain...

I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far ...

I need you
(What about us)
What about nature's worth
(ooo, ooo)
It's our planet's womb
(What about us) ...
What about the days
(What about us)
What about all their joy
(What about us) ...

Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

This year, for Christmas, I received an Earthing sheet.  Yes, that’s right, an Earthing sheet.  So what is it and why?

Earthing or Grounding, is simply being in physical contact with the Earth.  Similar to walking barefoot outside on the grass or sand or beach.  But when you live where we do, and it is -30 degrees Celsius, it’s a bit difficult without getting severe frost bite.  Therefore a substitute is an Earthing product to provide the same benefits.

You see, the Earth resonates with natural, subtle energies that can benefit us when we are in contact with it.  It helps to synchronize our internal biological clocks, hormonal cycles and physiological rhythms.  How? ... with healing negatively charged free electrons ... also known as vitamin G, G for ground that is.

Still not buying it?  That’s okay because we all know that if you don’t believe it, it will never work for you.  I, on the other hand, am very intrigued.  And I have been doing some research and finding some very interesting things about why people ground and their miraculous stories, thanks to the initial findings of Clint Ober.

You may also be wondering, are we not always in contact with the ground so how is this any different?  Well, throughout history humans walked barefoot and slept on the ground.  But modern lifestyle, including the widespread use of insulative rubber- or plastic-soled shoes, has disconnected us from the Earth’s energy and, of course, we no longer sleep on the ground.

There is a fair share of research indicating that this disconnect may actually contribute to chronic pain, fatigue and poor sleep.  So the remedy is simple.  Walk barefoot outdoors whenever possible and/or sleep, work, or relax indoors in contact with conductive sheets or mats that transfer the energy to your body.

And Earthing is safe, natural and for all ages.  Now, it is by no means a cure, a medicine or a substitute for medical treatment.  Rather it can be implemented as an addition on your wellness path.

Still not sure ... well a good test is to go outside for 30 minutes and see what a difference it makes on your pain or stress level.  Just sitting, standing, or walking on grass, sand, dirt or concrete will provide you the healing energy of the Earth at work.

Miraculous observations and reports have been shared from this healing energy ...
A significant one caught my attention:
  • defuses the cause of inflammation, and improves or eliminates the symptoms of many inflammation-related disorders

As many of us know that chronic inflammation or inflam-aging triggers pain, dis-ease and other disturbances in our bodies.  This inflammation is caused by free radicals.  So when you make direct contact with the Earth, the negatively-charged electrons from the Earth are absorbed into your body and reduce the free radicals and inflammation.

“Researchers now realize that pain and dis-ease arise in our bodies where an inflammatory response has taken place, but the inflammation has not completely stopped after the healing process. A low level of chronic inflammation can continue for years, damaging normal tissues and wasting energy.”

With the recent incidences of chronic dis-ease, allergies, auto-immune conditions and insomina skyrocketing, we are all searching to not only survive but truly thrive.  And depending on what you believe, connecting ourselves to the Earth’s energy may be that missing link.

So if you can, go outside, walk barefoot and soak in Mother Nature’s healing energy available for all of us to benefit from ... either way, it’ll give you a different perspective as to how to ground yourself.
