" Tolerate ... "

Try to see the way around you
I can't find it
Try to take the path behind me
Can't rewind it
Stick your finger in my face and
I will break it
Leave me with an after taste
I live for it

I try
Tolerate

~ Staind ~ Tolerate ~

We’ve heard that life is to be enjoyed and appreciated, not endured.  Then why does it seem that most are just “tolerating” it?

You may understand what I mean.  It is hard to stay in a space of peace, calm and clarity when chaos is in your environment.  Blame it on work, marriage, school, family … we tend to go thru the motions.  We fake it till we make it … we tolerate.

We tolerate behaviours in others and ourselves …

We tolerate people who are purposely difficult.
choice … life gets easier when you remove those who make it difficult

We tolerate and attempt to live up to the expectations of others.
choice … do your best and create the time towards your true destiny

We tolerate and share our victim story
choice … life is too short to spend at war with yourself

We tolerate and romanticize and hold on to the past.
choice … you are not your past failures or habits, learn from your regrets and live beyond your fears

We tolerate our excuses.
choice … just do it and let your actions speak for themselves

We deserve to be happy and live a life that we are excited about.  So don’t let others make you forget that.  Just because someone else’s life is in chaos, that they are going thru the motions, and tolerating life … you don’t have to.  Reflect on the person you are capable of being … joyful moments of self-discovery, passionate endeavours, playing and standing up for what you believe in.  Strive for your time of living as a life fully living rather than just tolerating.

" Keep Your Word ... "

" ... and so you're talking to me today,
like everyday
for hours on
i think of when your first spoke to me
and how far our friendships gone
the texts, the winks, the subtle things you said,
confusing me
i'm glad we sorted out what's in your head, cause now i see

so keep your words and keep your problems
i've got enough of mine to solve them ... "

~ Bethan Mary Leadley ~ Keep Your Word ~

You keep your word and I’ll keep mine.  Sounds pretty easy but doesn’t seem to apply.  You say you’ll meet up and you don’t.  You say you’ll call and you don’t.  You say “we should really get together” and you don’t.  Not so easy anymore is it … So what is it with being a flake?  Now this definitely not a rant … not worth the energy to drum up anger and frustration because someone’s made you an option and not a priority.  Yeah, it may seem direct, and a bit harsh … but it’s the truth.  Because every time you make up an excuse to not do something without a reasonable explanation … you’re being a flake.  And don’t worry, we’ve all been there, thankfully some of us have not only worked on this issue, but weeded out the necessary flakes in our lives so that it doesn’t rub off.

Let this one sit with you for a while before you decide to react … be honest with yourself.  Because unless you are honest with you first, no one else with know the truth.  And maybe you’ve outgrown a connection and hoping for it to fade away, it happens.  But in the meantime, do not commit to what you cannot commit to.  Period.  Otherwise you’re lying.  Period.

I think we can all agree that it is a pretty good idea to keep our word.  And there are many benefits … you are instantly trusted, because sadly it is rare.  You see, keeping your word means you are reliable and is the foundation for others to take risks on your behalf in the name of change.  And with this trust brings comfort.  A genuine feeling … plus keeping your word is one behaviour that earns you respect, instantly, and your reputation.

if you can’t keep your word,
you’re better off keeping your mouth shut.

So where does THIS all come from … a recent “lesson learned” …
Without airing dirty laundry, it is about time to hold others accountable for their actions.  But remember, you may lose that connection in the process as it may be considered rude.  So you decide.  Are you willing to put up with being treated like plan B, or do you know your worth?

The last few days I experienced some interesting interactions, insights and for lack of a better word, awakenings … as if epiphanies were popping up all over the place.  It is what you do NOW, matters with consequences to your actions.

So the next time you wonder why you can’t seem to count on others …
look within and answer if you can count on yourself, first.

" Virtual Insanity ... "

Futures made of virtual insanity
now always seem, to be governed by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh now there is no sound for we all live underground

And I'm thinking in what a mess we're in
Hard to know when to begin ...
That's not nature's way
Well that's what they said yesterday

Living - Virtual Insanity
Living - Virtual Insanity

Virtual Insanity is what we're living in

Our identities have now been extended further by virtual communities.  And this every increasingly world has made it easy to either fake an identity or proceed without one at all.  So why does it matter ... well the power of anonymity can create long-lasting social shame with little to no accountability.
Anonymity empowers people to behave differently then they usually would.  This is because there is a feeling of confidence and courage to express their opinions directly ... it just feels safer because face to face confrontation is difficult for most people.
In a virtual world, our identity is composed of information rather than matter.  This lack of physical presence changes the rules for users. Oddly, the social rules, norms and expectations which are accepted in the physical world, are not always applicable in the virtual world.
So the question is ... do you really care?  Do you care about the implications of identity, deception an anonymity on society?  Because basically there is generation of kids who have grown up always interacting with the virtual world.  Their access to digital media and the virtual world have enabled unacceptable behavior to occur frequently.  Mean and defiant behavior is facilitated through the virtual world ... example: cyberbullying.

“ ... the internet is an unsupervised area, where nothing brings consequences ... ”

Where do we go from here? ... it is about finding the Middle Way.  It is about having the ability to know when you need one-one-one human time.  It is about actually talking to people rather than texting, emailing, tweeting, blogging ... no technology will replace human contact.  Because energy called LOVE, expressed from person to person, is still yet to be truly capture within our cyber world.
The power of a hug, a touch, eye contact and presence communicates far beyond an email being sent across the world.  Take the time to write a love letter, call a friend, visit family and just BE truly present ... because the greatest gift you can give anyone is FACE time.

" Hypocrite … "

Who's to blame
Tell me who's to blame
Tell me who, you
You're not responsible
I'm responsible ...

I don't wanna do that again
I've been all over the place
I watched the strawberry fields
Dry up and wither away
And if you ask me to stay
You know that's where I will be
Don't wanna do that again
I'll never do that again

Human beings can be intelligent, rational and hypocritical.  Yes, it seems we humans are wired to be hypocrites as well.  And if we are truly honesty with ourselves, we can find some level of hypocrisy in our own lives.

Now we may believe we are living our values of being trustworthy, good, hard working, ecologically-minded, fair and responsible citizens.  But what if we have been falling short of living these?

... hypocrite pretends to be better than he really is or to be pious, virtuous without really being so ...

One of the main reasons is people desire to have the best of both worlds.  I believe within us we are fully aware that something is morally wrong with our actions, but we do it anyway because it feels good or is convenient.  And when we use rationalization, we can even justify our actions.

... hypocrisy intentionally covers-up, it conceals, it hides by actions and words which misleads others ... hypocrisy is living a lie …

Being on the receiving end of hypocrisy is tough.  Really tough ... betrayal, malice, deception.  Yet you learn not to be dismayed by the spite of others, and for that matter even your own inconsistencies.  Thankfully we are also wired to be imperfect as well.  As our lives are all dynamic spiritual journeys ...

We all have moments where our lives are double standards.  Where we don one mask to cover another.  Therefore, accepting that hypocrisy will creep into our lives can make us more aware and cautious about our certainty.  It can allow us to approach topics with a more balanced approach and engage in conversations or thought processes with a more open-minded attitude.

ॐ never try to mess up someones life with a lie when yours can be destroyed with the truth ॐ
